For those of you who are perhaps not familiar with Geox, let me tell you a little about them. Geox are an Italian manufacture of shoes and clothing, their quality of products are extremely high – one of the major reasons we at Ogam Igam stock them and simply why they are one of our best sellers. The Geox brand name was created from a mixture between the Greek word “geo” (earth), and “x”, a letter-element which symbolises technology.
The emphasis with Geox shoes, trainers and boots is their ‘quality and comfort’. The brand is very much into technical innovations, and as such, developed a range of products that are at the forefront of modern design. The Geox shoe soles are perforated and contain a unique breathable waterproof membrane. There is actually a very interesting story behind the perforated sole innovation– the founder of the brand Mario Polegato, was out jogging one day in the dry desert climate of Reno (Nevada USA). His feet became so hot from the exertion that he punctured holes in the sole of his trainers with his Swiss army knife, which immediately relived the heat.
In addition to the shoes, the Geox range of trainers and boots use a cushioning technology, which is likened to ‘walking on the moon’ this technology, absorbs and shock, fatigue and stress creating an uplifting effect both to the heel and the forefoot.
